At the Savonlinna Opera Festival, a local savory treat is a welcome indulgence.
Here at Kakkukaaos, we’ve developed a savory pie for this opera season, inspired by the Olavinlinna Black Ram.
The pie’s base features the local smoked lamb from Putkisalo Manor. To enhance its delicious flavor, we use our own marinated red onions, a cheese blend, herbs, and heavy cream. The pie is served slightly warmed, accompanied by a fresh green salad.

The pie is both lactose-free and gluten-free. We use Virtasalmen Viljatuote’s pastry flour mix, making it suitable for those avoiding grains. The pie can also be ordered for takeaway.
To complement the sparkling atmosphere of the opera and our recommended dishes, we suggest pairing it with the Finnish Niitty Juhlakuohu (2 dl, 0%). This refined, herbaceous alcohol-free semi-dry sparkling beverage is flavored with Finnish meadowsweet and fireweed flowers. Price: 5€.
