Canooing is closer to nature than, for example, walking, riding or cycling. Finnish nature offers true wilderness and untouched nature.
The Ulpukkatrail is a canoeing route that runs through 14 different sized lakes or ponds and the rivers and streams between them. At its longest, the route is about 37 kilometers long. Plenty of water on the route and the blue-blue herbaceous wildflowers provide unforgettable nature experiences for the paddle. The nature of the trail is that its water flows northwards, unlike the Finnish waterways in general. If you want to end the route, you can continue your journey all the way to Kolovesi National Park.
The route has been used for a long time, it has served commercial activities through the ages. The shores of the route have been traded, quarreled, kept in prison, and rubbed into acquaintances both during and after the war. Many of the waters, beaches and places along the route have been named after past events.
