[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hyterm\u00e4 nature reserve and museum islands is one of the most interesting nature attractions in the Lake Saimaa region. The three islands of Hyterm\u00e4 were declared protected already in 1931 as the first nature reserve in the then Mikkeli county.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hyterm\u00e4 nature reserve and museum islands are located in Kerim\u00e4ki, approximately half and hour’s drive from Savonlinna. The distance from the centre of Kerim\u00e4ki to Hyterm\u00e4 is 7 km to the direction of H\u00e4lv\u00e4. The lake surrounding Hyterm\u00e4 is Lake Puruvesi, a part of Lake Saimaa.<\/p>\n

Hyterm\u00e4 islands can only be reached by water, either by your own boat or a rental rowing boat. The rental rowing boats of Hyterm\u00e4 are located at: H\u00e4lv\u00e4nsaarentie 80, 58200 Kerim\u00e4ki. Please book your rowing boat in advance \u00bb<\/a><\/p>\n

Guided tour with transportation<\/h2>\n

You can order a guided tour that includes pick up from your accommodation in the Savonlinna region. During the tour, you will get information on the interesting history and nature of the region from a guide. You will also have a chance to take a peek in the old buildings and artifacts on the islands, something that is not possible without a guide. We will also visit the world’s biggest wooden church in the centre of Kerim\u00e4ki. The duration of the trip is 3-4 hours, min. 2 pax. \u00a0Book a guided tour \u00bb<\/a><\/p>\n

By your own car<\/h2>\n

You can also get to Hyterm\u00e4 by your own car. You will first arrive at Kerim\u00e4ki and then continue after the roundabout between the world’s biggest wooden church and K-market (grocery store) along H\u00e4lv\u00e4ntie road (changes to Tavisalontie road and then to H\u00e4lv\u00e4nsaarentie road) approx. 7 km. A little before where the rowing boats are kept, you can see the Hyterm\u00e4 islands and the Monument to work on the left side. A little less than a kilometre from here there is a turn to left at the junction to where the rowing boats are kept and where the parking spaces are.<\/p>\n

By public transportation<\/h2>\n

You can get to Kerim\u00e4ki from Savonlinna by bus (check the schedules \u00bb<\/a>). The distance from the centre of Kerim\u00e4ki to Hyterm\u00e4 is about 7 km and there is no public transportation.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
