Many operas, such as those by Jean Sibelius and Aulis Sallinen, have been inspired by Finnish nature and mythology.
Much like the great masterpieces, our kitchen draws inspiration from the seasonal delights offered by Lake Saimaa – fresh lake fish, the wild aromas of the forest, and the rhythm of nature itself.
In the “Fish of the Day” dish, we use wild fish from Saimaa, selected according to the catch of the day. The fish is complemented by carefully chosen sides, such as mushrooms from nearby forests, wild herbs, and seasonal vegetables produced locally.

Restaurant Ruukinranta
Restaurant Ruukinranta, located by the Oravi Canal at the site of an old ironworks, specializes in local fish and game. The restaurant offers breakfast, pizza, and à la carte dishes. It is open during the summer season and available for group bookings at other times by reservation.
