Welcome to the former village school of Ojamäki to celebrate the Saimaa Harvest Festival with Karelian flavours, traditional craftsmanship, and the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside.
In the peaceful countryside of Kitee’s Ojamäki village, the former village school becomes a cozy setting for the Saimaa Harvest Festival, filled with Karelian tastes and handmade traditions. The charming old schoolhouse sets the stage for a true local food celebration, where Karelia à la carte expert Maija Timonen prepares traditional Karelian dishes and pastries – backed by over 60 years of experience.
In the courtyard, visitors can take part in workshops focused on Karelian crafts and food products, while local producers showcase and sell their delicious creations. Kids can enjoy their own program hosted by Koira-Kati, who also offers handmade goods for furry friends of all kinds.
The Old Ojamäki School joins the Saimaa Harvest Festival for the entire weekend – Friday to Sunday.
The full program will be announced soon!
