Saimaan Maku Local Food Shop & Café is excited to join the Saimaa Harvest Festival!
Opened in spring 2025, Saimaan Maku is a friendly local farmers market shop and café located right in the heart of Savonlinna – just a stone’s throw from the market square.
During the Saimaa Harvest Festival, we’ll be serving up the best seasonal flavors: traditional Finnish dishes, local baked goods, and artisan coffee from a nearby coffee roastery – all lovingly prepared using local ingredients.
Our selection features products from over 20 producers: meats, preserved fish, dairy and grain products, berries, and a wide variety of D.O. Saimaa products. Throughout the festival, we’ll also host tastings and product showcases, giving you a chance to meet the makers and hear their stories.
We operate as a nonprofit in support of local food culture – come and discover how Saimaa tastes!
There’s something happening every day at Saimaan Maku from September 12–14, 2025 – from delicious bites to great local shopping. We’ll be open in the evenings too!
