Step into Sovintola – a century-old village school filled with history and modern-day charm
Located in the heart of Kesälahti, Sovintola is a beautifully preserved school building over a hundred years old, now thriving as a vibrant hub for gatherings, creativity, and culture.
The peaceful yard features a flourishing old garden, while indoors you’ll find a cozy café, sunny terraces, an art gallery, a second-hand bookshop, a craft store, as well as spaces for local associations and artist residencies. Sovintola is also the starting and ending point for two inspiring cultural and nature trails (2.5 km and 4.5 km), where stories of the surrounding landscape come to life.
During the Saimaa Harvest Festival, Sovintola will host a variety of local makers and organizations, offering tastes, crafts, and meaningful encounters in a one-of-a-kind setting.
