Punkaharju
Getting to Punkaharju by car:
- From Savonlinna 25km – 25min.
- From Lappeenranta 155km – 1h 55min.
- From Helsinki 333km – 4h.
Tuunaansaari at Punkaharju is located 25km from Savonlinna towards Parikkala, and 11km from Punkaharju town centre towards Savonlinna. The café-restaurant Harjun Portti is situated right next to road 14. Punkaharju Resort and Luhtitalo Topelius are only about 500 metres from Harjun Portti towards Kesämaa and past it towards the shore.
Hotel Punkaharju is 2km from Tuunaansaari; just drive on road 14 towards Punkarharju town centre and turn right after the bridge which will then have signs guiding you there.
Getting to Punkaharju by train:
- From Helsinki to Retretti approx. 4h.
- From Lappeenranta to Retretti approx 1,5h.
- From Savonlinna to Retretti approx 30mins.
The train stop for Retretti is situated in Tuunaansaari by the main building of Harjun Portti. From Helsinki, you can get to Punkaharju changing train just once at Parikkala. The train trip from Savonlinna to Retretti lasts about 30minutes and costs between 3-6€. Please check accurate train timetables from vr.fi!
Getting to Lusto forest museum is also handy by train as the museum has its own train stop. Lusto is less than 3km from Tuunaansaari, and 700m from Hotel Punkaharju.
Getting to Punkaharju by bus:
Tuunaansaari has its own bus stop, and Punkaharju has many buses each day. To get on the bus from Savonlinna just climb on just by the marketplace. Please check timetables for buses!
Oravi
The easiest ways to get to Oravi are by car, taxi or by using Oravi’s own paid charter service. The distance from Savonlinna to Oravi is around 42km which takes about 40 minutes by car. From Savonlinna airport it is a 37km distance to Oravi, around 30minutes. ULA-taxi number: 015 10 60 100. Rantasalmi (Hotel & Spa Resort Järvisydän, Porokylä)
Getting to Rantasalmi by car:

- From Varkaus 38km – 35minutes.
- From Mikkeli 90km – 1h 20minutes.
- From Helsinki 320km – 3h 30minutes.
- From Jyväskylä 170km – 2h 15min.
- From Kuopio 110km – 1h.
- From Savonlinna airport 67km – 1h.
- From Kuopio airport 114km – 1,5h.

The closest bus stop to Rantasalmi’s Hotel & Spa Resort Järvisydän and Porokylä reindeer village is about 3km from Järvisydän. Rantasalmi bus station is 10km away, and the Hiismäki Onnibus (Helsinki-Savonlinna) stop is about 20km away.
