The Enonkoski Lutheran Monastic Community and the Maamiesseura House invite you to explore local history, pause for reflection, and find peace amidst the harvest season. Open Sat–Sun, 13–14 September, 10 AM–2 PM.
On Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm, visitors are welcome to step into the peaceful atmosphere of the monastery, learn about its work and spaces, and enjoy a serving of traditional grain porridge. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity offers a moment of quiet and spiritual stillness.
The 102-year-old Ihamaniemi Agricultural Society welcomes visitors with the incredible origin story of its community hall. You’ll also find a photo collection of tools used in the village over the past 100 years, a library with several hundred books, and a small second-hand shop. Learn about the health benefits and cultivation of asparagus. Guides on asparagus farming are available for purchase in Estonian and Finnish, along with cookbooks featuring asparagus recipes in Dutch. Enjoy a coffee break with traditional Finnish coffee cake.
Welcome to unwind and experience the traditions of the village at these two unique venues!
A more detailed program will be published before the event.
