Active Savonlinna – company network was established around for sport, wellness and outdoor. There are ten companies and communities participating to Active Savonlinna which are providing sport, wellness and outdoor services in Savonlinna area.

The network aims to showcase Sport, Wellness and Outdoor development as a year-round tourist attraction in Savonlinna. Enterprises attract tourists with beautiful landscapes, national parks and sights of interest throughout the year. Every enterprise on the network have integrative factors: solid expertise and intensity on quality servicescape. These factors, combined with beautiful nature, give guests memorable experiences.

Bewell Center Tanhuvaara

Bewell Center Tanhuvaara is modern wellness center located in Tanhuvaara Sports Institute area about 20 minutes’ drive away from Savonlinna martketplace.

Cooperation with Tanhuvaara it offers massage, fascial treatments, acupuncture, pedicure and also cosmetician and haircut-services for groups and individual customers.

Matkailukeskus Harjun Portti

Holiday Resort Harjun Portti is located in year-round Tuunaansaari holiday village in Savonlinna’s Punkaharju. Harjun Portti offers cozy and inexpensive cottage accommodation short walk away from steamship platform and Retretti- train stop. In Harjun Portti there are also café-restaurant, variety of activities, versatile equipment rental as well as in summer and winter. In guest harbor there are places over 20 boats and refueling.

Every cottage is equipped with own sauna and equipment for longer stays. All cottages are located in Punkaharju Resort with excellent location such as Waterpark Kesämaa, Art Manor Johanna Oras, Forest Museum Lusto. In Harjun Portti there are total 24 cottages and over 100 beds.

Kerigolf

Kerigolf is located in Kerimäki, 17 kilometres away from Savonlinna town. It is located right next to Kerimaa holiday resort. Kerigolf is unique field with 18-holes where players can enjoy a round of golf in the middle of the magnificent nature. The course is designed by Ronald Fream who once fell in love the beautiness of the area and differences of the terrain heights.

Kerigolf offers golf courses for beginners and any other golf instructions guidanced by PGA Pro Tuomas Sistonen. Lessons can be arranged both beginners and advanced players, in a groups or individuals. Club’s café-restaurant and 10-kiosk takes care that players will be nourished.

Kerimaa

Kerimaa is small and beautiful village 17 kilometers away from Savonlinna and Punkaharju towns. Kerimaa holiday resort offers lovely settings for holiday: cozy accommodation in loft apartments and unique cottages equipped with own sauna and small kitchens. Rantasalmi Golf

Rantasalmi Golf is an inexpensive nine-hole golf course located in 50 kilometers away from Savonlinna. In Pehtoori house there are golf’s reception, pro-shop and locker rooms. Enjoy in Pehtoori’s café pastries with hot or cold drinks.

Par-figure for nine fairways is 33. In course there are driving range, practice green and bunker. Narrow greens make playing challenging. Players with excellent short game skills will make the best results. After all the course is also suitable for the beginners.

Savonlinnan Seudun Liikunta

Savonlinnan Seudun Liikunta association promotes sports and different kind of sports activities in Savonlinna region. The idea of the association is to support and develop Savonlinna region’s sport clubs’ functions and enables the area of sports and youth work. Savonlinnan Seudun Liikunta provides jobs for long-term unemployed and young people.

Savonlinnan Seudun Liikunta takes care of Savonlinna’s sports facilities. Association also organizes events and helps other to organizing. Events that they have organized are example Pyhän Olavin marathon and unique event called “Norsupallo World Championship”.

Sulkavan Suursoudut

Sulkavan Suursoudut – rowing event is arranged every year in June. It is world’s biggest rowing event and event was held first time in 1968. Main competition route is 60 kilometers long. Other routes are 30 kilometers long night rowing, 70 kilometres long trip rowing, four kilometers long rowing challenge and Hakovirta’s 20 kilometers for church boats, small boats, canoes and kayaks.

Tanhuvaaran Urheiluopisto

Tanhuvaara is versatile and sporty service center located in 14 kilometers away from city center of Savonlinna. Tanhuvaara holiday resort’s sport services are in top level. In Tanhuvaara there are practicing as well as European Champion, jawelin thrower Antti Ruuskanen than leisure time hobbyist and vacationers.
