Villa Suruton – Art, Stories and Atmosphere from from the Happy Islands.
Villa Suruton is a year-round art gallery and design studio located in a historic wooden villa on Savonlinna’s Kasinonsaari islands.
Built in 1890, Villa Suruton is part of Savonlinna’s rich heritage of villas and spa culture. In the early 20th century, the Kasinonsaari area was known for its lively spa life, and the cluster of three islands near the city center was called the Islands of the Blessed.
Opera singer Aino Ackté, founder of the Savonlinna Opera Festival, used to stay in the villa, and author Joel Lehtonen finished his short story collection here.
During the Saimaa Harvest Festival, Villa Suruton invites you to enjoy art, stories and local flavours in a truly unique setting.
More programme details will be announced soon.
